Precision and Predictability

Precision. Predictability. Productivity. Guaranteed!

Eliminate Off-shade Discoloration and Translucency

Oxide Contaminates cause yellowish to greenish shades and decreased translucency. Purging and zirconia chips won’t help. Only Nacera Clean powder eliminates discoloring oxides from walls, trays, beads, heat sensors, and heating elements. Regain and maintain proper shading and translucency, only with Nacera Clean.

Errant Sintering Temperatures that are too low prevent zirconia from reaching accurate shades and proper translucency. Temperatures that are too high decrease normal chroma levels. Measuring calipers are too unreliable. Nacera Calibrate is the only real gauge that accurately reports furnace sintering temperature. To reset sintering temperatures confidently, use Nacera Calibrate.

Engineered Predictability

Barksdale costs savings averages over $10,000/mo.

Work smarter Lab.

Barksdale Dental Lab (Huntsville, AL)
Owners: Steve and Betty Barksdale

How did they cut monthly zirconia costs by $8,000?

Our Strategy: Lower costs while increasing service. Sell direct through a wholly owned US subsidiary focused on service, with local inventory.

  1. Eliminate unnecessary steps and transactions to cut costs for customers.
  2. Improve lab production precision to reduce steps and labor costs per finished product.

Total average cost savings exceeds $10,000/mo.

Strategy: Reduce product costs and production time, increase production precision and speed with Nacera One Touch System Tune-up.

  1. Reduced average product costs over $8,000/mo.
  2. Reduced glazing times an average 18 min/unit (production increase/labor decrease).
  3. Reduced internal remakes 10%, with increased customer satisfaction.

Leader "Quality Assurance" in Dortmund

Interview with: Matthias Goeke

What are your professional qualifications and
what is your current job at DOCERAM?

I am a trained tool mechanic, trained quality officer, and internal auditor. I am the quality management representative for the industries served by DOTHERM and DOCERAM. I am also responsible for the maintenance of our quality management system (DIN ISO 9001).

In addition, I lead the quality assurance in Dortmund for all three companies in Dortmund (DT / DC / DMC).

What does precision mean to you?

For me, precision means to know certain requirements exactly, and not only fulfill them, but also with consistent quality.

What does "to work smarter" mean to you?

In order to work smarter, I have to know the processes, and above all, I have to understand these processes. Only then will I recognize potentials to become "smarter" or "better".

What makes you proud of your work?
What do you particularly looking forward to and
what do you provide to the products?

I am proud of our products and the people behind them. Of course, I am also proud of what I or my colleagues give to the products: faultless products of excellent quality.

It is important to me that the desire of each individual is to make a positive difference and to be better than the competition. I feel very proud by being a part of a this kind of team.

What are you doing in your leisure time
in compensation from work/ job?

First and foremost, I spend a lot of time with my family, especially with my 2-year-old son. I pay him a lot of attention (actually my full attention) I like playing football, too.

CNC Grinding Operator

Interview with: Stephan Nagel

What are your professional qualifications and
what is your current job at DOCERAM?

I completed a training as a precision mechanic – now I am employed as a CNC grinding operator.

What does precision mean to you?

For me, precision means working with machines that produce with high precision, so that the finest tolerances are guaranteed.

What does "to work smarter" mean to you?

To think about the production of complex components and this on as small number of machines as possible.

What makes you proud of your work?
What do you particularly looking forward to and
what do you provide to the products?

Producing components for world-famous customers such as Bosch, Audi and BMW. I am pleased with the satisfaction of the customers that they buy from us again and again.

What are you doing in your leisure time
in compensation from work/ job?

Listen to music, meet with friends and watch TV shows and movies.

CNC Turning Programmer

Interview with: David Lenz

What are your professional qualifications and
what is your current job at DOCERAM?

I completed training as a precision mechanic. Currently, I am employed as a CNC turning programmer and operator in the ceramics manufacturing process of green zirconia production, and as a CNC grinding programmer and operator in the process of hard machining.

What does precision mean to you?

For me, precision means producing components at a level of quality that meets my personal requirements and those of the customer.

What does "to work smarter" mean to you?

For me, the importance of “working smarter” means to get an overview of what has to be produced at the beginning of my job week. It also means, to bring everything together in order, to be able to quickly and promptly complete all orders without any major set-up time or machine modifications. It also means that problems are detected early to counteract them.

What makes you proud of your work?
What do you particularly looking forward to and
what do you provide to the products?

I am proud to work with ceramics and to do pioneering work in the material field of ceramics. I do not have anyone in the circle of acquaintances who works with the material “ceramics,” as such. In addition, I am proud to plan, program, execute and optimize the programs and processes themselves.

What are you doing in your leisure time
in compensation from work/ job?

I balance work with motorcycling and my interest in motorsports in general. I love motorcycling together with friends on the weekend or watching the motorcycle races.

Graduate Engineer

Interview with: Sven Schomer

What are your professional qualifications and
what is your current job at DOCERAM?

I am a graduate engineer in the field of glass and ceramics materials technology. I studied at a university of applied sciences and thus, apart from the theoretical basics, my focus was also on the practice. Most of my time at DOCERAM is spent in the development of processes and products. Since we serve all three companies in our group, the range of different products and processes is huge.

In addition to these activities I am also a service provider and act as support for other departments.

What does precision mean to you?

For me, precision is a requirement for each and every product. Our way of working, e.g. based on tests, must be reproducible and documented. The overarching goal is to try to achieve the highest degree of precision, but on some parameters (like costs), we have no influence because that is the cost of precision, and precision comes first.

What does "to work smarter" mean to you?

In the research and development department, my colleagues and I are constantly facing new challenges. Often, these come from new areas where we do not have enough background knowledge. Although we always try to capture and understand the applications and key data, there are always unforeseen influences. That’s why there needs to be several development samples, with sometimes negative results. For me "working smarter" is to learn from these negative results, document them and still find the opportunity to develop an optimization for the process or the product.

What makes you proud of your work?
What do you particularly looking forward to and
what do you provide to the products?

My job at DOCERAM allows me to see many perspectives, and an appreciation for how things are accomplished by bringing together parts to create the whole. At our site we have a large selection of processes and materials that we can use for our development. This allows us to frequently leverage synergies that help to improve and optimize products. As already mentioned, we also act as support for other departments. We can get involved in various activities or work on problems that arise and bring in solutions. I consider this opportunity very important.

What are you doing in your leisure time
in compensation from work/ job?

To switch off after work, music in the car is enough for me. I can breathe deeply and forget the efforts of the day. Of course, there are always questions that accompany me in my free time. This does not degenerate into stress, but gives me the opportunity to think again in a quiet moment. Of course, sports and occasional gambling with friends also helps immensely.
